"Clay has been my preferred medium in artistic expression for almost over 40 years. I also enjoy painting. Taking night classes at the local high school in 1975 introduced me to clay. In 1975-1978, I joined the Auckland Studio Potters and began lessons with Pat Perrin who introduced me to handbuilding. Workshops include New Zealand Barry Bickell and Margaret Milne and Australian Peter Travis. Another workshop with New Zealand Sculptor Terry Stringer. Settled in New Zealand in 2002, I produce one of a kind pieces in stoneware clay. Each piece is individually designed and handbuilt, glazes are slips and mixed glazes and then fired in a electric kiln to its final state.
Clay has always been my preferred medium in artistic expression for over 35 years, although I enjoy painting aswell. Each piece is individually handmade, original and one of a kind. Colour variances and mistakes are left as they were part of the process. Art is a universal language and through imaginery that is understood and recognized by all everywhere. What is important is the pleasure each piece of art can bring into someone's life, whatever form. "
"Through the miracle of the hand heart and soul you literally make something out of nothing. Each piece of art fulfills it's greatest purpose when it enhances a person's life, or find it's home in someone's heart."
