Anna Korver

Anna Korver is a New Zealand and Beninese sculptor who has worked internationally since earning her BFA from the University of Canterbury in 2003. Her works are held in major collections, including Saudi Arabia’s King Abdul Aziz Historical Centre and Benin’s National Collection. She’s a two-time Wallace Award finalist, participated in over 80 sculpture symposiums, and won first prize at the 2024 Tuwaiq International Symposium.

Her minimalist, autobiographical sculptures explore feminine identity, challenging traditional roles and celebrating strength. Recent works examine the idea of home—both refuge and confinement—using architectural forms to explore self-deconstruction and reconstruction. Living between New Zealand and Benin and building her own studio have deeply influenced her practice.
