Ernesto Ovalle

Ernesto Ovalle is a master Pounamu carver and contemporary artist, certified by Ngāi Tahu Iwi to ethically source and craft greenstone from New Zealand’s South Island. Originally from Colombia and a descendant of the Muisca tribe, he brings over 25 years of experience as a goldsmith and sculptor. Ernesto’s work blends his indigenous roots with Māori and Pacific influences, reflecting a deep connection to land and culture.
