Ian Blackwell is a New Zealand artist celebrated for his handcrafted wooden creations, often made from native Rimu veneer. Growing up on a Waikato farm, he developed a deep passion for NZ timbers. Trained as a carpenter, Ian now designs and hand-finishes unique pieces alongside his wife Kitty at their Auckland West Coast studio. His work reflects a love for New Zealand and its iconic “can do” spirit, with every item crafted with care and precision.
