Paora Tiatoa
Paora Tiatoa is a New Zealand-based contemporary Māori printmaker known for his abstract multi-pass screen and inkjet prints. His work blends Māori culture, history, and personal stories with pop culture and art history, creating intricate layers of meaning through his unique printing techniques. Identifying with Abstract Contemporary Māori Art (ACMA), Paora draws inspiration from his heritage, experiences, and time as a DJ. Living on Matakana Island, he transitioned from house painting to art later in life, passionately exploring Māori creation myths, ta moko, and cultural symbols in his dynamic prints.
