This piece explores the essence of feminine strength, nurture, and
connection through abstracted, interwoven forms.  The figure, folded
inward yet expansive in presence, evokes a sense of quiet power and
introspection. 

Earthy reds, ochres, and umbers ground the composition, connecting
the body to whenua (land) and whakapapa (ancestry).  The figure's
form - part vessel, part shield - hints at motherhood and protection. 
The subtle divisions in tone and shape speak to the many facets of
identity held within one being.
