Whangārei-based artist Deborah Robertson creates quirky clay sculptures inspired by her rural Northland upbringing, where animals and muddy landscapes shaped her imagination. Her work blurs the line between creature and human, reflecting the charm and complexity of the natural world.

With a Master’s in Creative Writing, Deborah balances pottery with teaching, film, and engineering. She lives with her husband, giant rabbits, and a flock of sheep—always creating, always observing.
