The Karearea might be our most threatened bird of prey, but that doesn’t hold them back because they are relentless. From high vantage points this fast-flying raptor launches into a dramatic chase after its live prey. When nesting on the ground they are known for attacking intruders, including humans, with aggressive dive-bombing strikes to the head. Not the ones you see feeding on roadkill, both our male and female native Falcons can be identified by a handlebar moustache. It’ll make a mighty powerful impression to your backyard.
