After missing my turn down another road, I swung into this lane to make a u-turn & my jaw dropped as my eyes met this spectacular view, I could scarcely believe it! Perfectly arranged like a film set, everything was still wet from an early morning shower of rain, cloud cover softly diffused the sunlight, preventing any shadows forming or brightly lit areas burning out (since the leaves were wet, the soft light allowed their deep colours to really glow). There wasn’t even the slightest breath of wind, a rare combination of ideal conditions that allowed me to capture this memorable scene, one that epitomises the best of Central Otago. I was just very fortunate to stumble upon it at the right time!”
