Rapkin Historical NZ Map - Paper Print

This map represents the colonisation and settlement of New Zealand as it was divided in 1848 into New Munster, New Ulster and New Leinster. The 1852 Constitution Act later replaced these with six Provinces. The map itself was published in 1851 as one of a set of 81 illustrations in the collection of the "Tallis Illustrated Atlast and Modern History of the World." The small coloured cartouches show Auckland Harbour, Mt Egmont from Plymouth, Wellington Harbour and the New Zealand Company Seal.
